Jennifer Symanns graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and began a career in law enforcement. She worked for over six years as a police officer with U-M’s Department of Public Safety in the Road Patrol/Community Policing Units. Jennifer attended law school at Wayne State University and is now a member of the State Bar of Michigan.
She eventually transitioned to a career in human resources at the university where she currently works as a Program Manager in Recruiting & Employment Services/Temporary Staffing Services. Additionally, Jennifer has served two terms as a Commissioner on the City of Ypsilanti’s Human Relations Commission and she also volunteers as a mediator at the Dispute Resolution Center.
