Latisha Cunningham, MSHROD, PHR, SHRM-CPDiversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Culture (DEIC) Officer, University of MichiganLatisha Cunningham grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and Graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a BBA and Master’s degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development.
Offered a full time position as a Human Resources-Affirmative Action Analyst while pursuing her graduate studies, Latisha’s interest and investment in the areas of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion werefueled. She worked as an Equal Opportunity Specialist, then a Senior Investigator in the University of Michigan’s Office for Institutional Equity for five years.
During this time, she investigatedCivil Rights matters and conductedtraining on Civil Rights laws and policies, before beginning her role at the University’s College of Literature, Science, and the Arts in 2016as their first DEIC Officer. In this role, Latisha is involved in efforts such as the development, organization, andfacilitationof trainingand professional development, policy/procedure review and design, recruitment and retention, consulting, developing metrics, climate studies, and spearheading the implementationof the LSA Staff DEIplan.
