M. Michelle Rosemond is an Administrator and Lecturer at the University of Michigan’s College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. Within these roles she serves as a nexus between Student and Academic Affairs. Ms. Rosemond’s unwavering commitment to her students in their pursuit of an undergraduate degree earned her the College’s Spotlight Award this past Fall. Both colleagues and faculty repeatedly recognize Ms. Rosemond for her initiative, creativity, energy and enthusiasm as she transforms ideas into policy and successfully manages projects and programs.

Ms. Rosemond attributes her love and passion for the pursuit of higher education to her parents. They knew that for Ms. Rosemond, born in Brooklyn,NewYork, to have the benefits for which they fled Haiti, she needed an education. This lifelong recognition of the connection between education and the opportunities that eluded her parents, motivated Ms. Rosemond to continue her graduate studies at Eastern Michigan University. As a doctoral candidate in Higher Education with a concentration in Human Resources, Ms. Rosemond works to bridge the gap between theory and practice. This coming September, she will defend her research on the school to work transition in today’s economic climate. When Ms. Rosemond is not working on her dissertation, she walks, practices yoga and Pilates or is seated with the other avid hockey moms at her son’s junior elite games.
