Event Details

Kimberly Papillon will discuss how various life experiences and neuroscience affect decision-making in the workplace, specifically in relation to diversity. In this interactive session, attendees will learn how life experiences shape our brain’s reactions and affect workplace decisions such as hiring, team dynamics, communication, and conflict resolution. The presentation will identify ways to increase fairness guided by science. Brain imaging can tell us what keeps us from effectively solving problems, helps us innovate, motivates us, scares us and fools us. Through viewing brain images, from various case studies, Papillon will demonstrate how people make decisions in every aspect of business including human resources, marketing and research and development, and how to utilize that to make an inclusive workplace.

Papillon will

• Explain how decisions are made in business, from a neurological standpoint
• Explain how the brain reacts and how it affects various competencies
• Discuss ways of creating procedures and processes that increase fairness in the workplace

Kimberly Papillon is a nationally recognized expert on the subject of judicial and legal decision-making. She has delivered more than 100 lectures nationwide on the implications of neuroscience, psychology and implicit association in the analysis of judicial fairness to multiple audiences including judges and appellate justices throughout the nation. She has been appointed to the National Center for State Courts, National Training Team on Implicit Bias a “think tank” for national judicial education. Papillon has produced documentaries on Neuroscience and Judicial Decision-Making, which have received national recognition. She has also worked as an attorney in large law firms representing Fortune 500 Companies, government entities and tech start-ups.
