Event Details

Hear from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) regarding the latest in employer support for veteran hiring, active military personnel who manage veteran recruitment and hiring, veterans who have successfully transitioned back into civilian life, and your colleagues who are trying to do this right!

The Veteran Talent Talk event will offer proven strategies to becoming a military-ready employer. Join to hear stories of real service men and women and also glean valuable information from government and private sector resources in attracting, hiring, and retaining this critical portion of our workforce.

The Diversity Passport series is a participation-based certificate program, where events in the program series/tour are held at local cultural museums and related places of interest so that attendees will have an opportunity to not only learn about a D&I topic, but also take advantage of a guided facility tour following the presentation. Program participants will earn a “stamp” on their MIDC Workplace Diversity Passport in an effort to pursue the year-end certificate. The goal of the series is not only to deliver informative events, but to also allow attendees to experience Metro-Detroit’s cultural gems. We feel this is a great opportunity to expose our members to some of our area’s greatest assets that promote history and cultural awareness.

Morning refreshments and boxed lunches to be served.
